SUPER SIZED COMMON SENSE
So Spring is fading by so fast… and just like the season, I also would like to change my journal ’s look. So I picked this gray and red theme that took me the whole night to edit. I just love the clean curves of th interface, very portfolio-like. I am planning to keep this for couple of weeks as I know it will be a while until I will get myself into making my own themes again.
Right now, I am so busy with my new project: A Memory Book for Arcee Balatico. A long time friend of Ate Lynne. It has been two weeks now and I finished 50 pages of it. I hope I can go faster but the only time I can really work on it is at night when Alyssa is fast asleep. For Multiply Themes, I am actually thinking of lying low for now. There was an incident that happened. I joined some group of friends, who like me are TIRED of having their works copied by “people”. And since I myself am being nice, I just gave my permission for the site to post my theme. Then the next day, I received messages asking me if I copied someone else’s themes… and I was like. NOPE, you got it wrong. YOU’D BETTER THINK TWICE AGAIN. Anyways, at the end of the day I was informed that they will shut down the site because “some” people complained.
Here is my position. I 100% support the group. WHY? Because just like what was said, I have the right to own my themes (though I am giving it for free). I am the developer and I designed the layout, I SHOULD NOT see other “authors” copying mine. It is plain outrageous. I worked hard to establish my identity.. to be unique and be original. Now, don’t hate me because of this. I don’t expect anybody to walk my path neither do I want you to stand beside me nor fight my battle. But when I see opportunities or in this case, group of people that feels the same way that I feel, of course I will jump on their boat and help them paddle. Unfortunately not all people understand the hard work we devote doing themes. And the sad part is, those people claiming they are “authors” are the one ripping us off of the identity we worked hard for.
I always try to be nice… and I tell you, NICER will I be if only people learn the DO’s and DON’Ts of borrowing and taking. It is NOT written but if only we all have SUPER SIZED COMMON SENSE then there will be no more bickering regarding this matter.
